In 2019 the WMYDC Centre team was faced with the challenge of expanding their capacity to house an additional 32 young people. With sensitive and complex circumstances requiring a nuanced solution, the project needed to be delivered rapidly and with great care. Tried and tested traditional delivery models were simply not sufficient for WMYDC. The project had a unique brief: deliver high quality correctional accommodations and services for WMYDC’s inhabitants incorporating the nuanced conditions they require, while delivering it in a significantly reduced timeframe.
