New commissioned artwork by Natalee Roe

This week emerging artist Natalee Roe delivered her beautiful piece “Kabul” (which means ‘snake’ in Gooreng Gooreng) to the FACTION Brisbane office.

Natalee is a Gooreng Gooreng woman, and her artwork tells the story of the Kabul which is an important totem in Gooreng Gooreng culture. Her painting depicts the rainbow snake, which represents creation and life.

We first came across Natalee at our recent project the West Moreton Youth Detention Centre, where her work was incorporated in to the facility as part of their therapeutic design strategy. Our Brisbane team are honoured to be able to enjoy this vibrant piece in their office, and we look forward to future commissions from Natalee for our Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart offices.

For those looking to work with an emerging local talent in Queensland, Natalee is open for commission inquiries. If you’re looking to adorn your workplace and support a local creative, you can contact [email protected] to be connected with Natalee.
