FACTION Initiative | Mental Health First Aid training

The last 18 months have highlighted the importance of supporting the Mental Health of your team.

At FACTION we have used 2021 to invest in our #peoplefirst culture by rolling out Mental Health First Aid training across our national leadership team to help us foster a supportive mental health culture in our company.

Managing Director Gary Finnegan took much more away from his recent Mental Health First Aid accreditation course than just crisis response strategies.

Gary explains, “I learnt that supporting the mental health of my staff is not just about securing their salaries, or asking ‘RU OK’ one day a year – it’s about fostering a culture of open dialogue around mental health, and putting dedicated systems in place to check-in on staff, ask what they need, and design their work life around those needs as much possible. This can be challenging with a growing team, but it is more essential than ever if we want to create a workplace where our people are well-supported and have a sustainable work life.”

In rolling out this training at FACTION, we are proud to support the ‘Be One of the Million’ campaign by Mental Health First Aid Australia which aims to achieve 1 million Australian trained in Mental Health First Aid nationally.
